Module 1: Yoga Philosophy & Foundations
  • Foundations of Yoga philosophy and classical Hatha Yoga studies

  • Indian philosophical systems: Āstika & Nāstika schools

  • Six classical darshanas: Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Samkhya, Yoga, Mimamsa, Vedanta

  • History and evolution of Yoga

  • Key texts: Patanjali Yoga Sutras & Hatha Yoga Pradipika

  • Traditional Yoga schools and modern approaches

  • Relationship of Yoga with Hinduism and Buddhism

  • Hatha Yoga, Raja Yoga (Ashtanga Yoga)

Module 2: Anatomy & Physiology
  • In-depth study of 35 key muscles: origin, insertion, function, relevance in alignment

  • Movement analysis: 3-dimensional, gravitational, technical, sight & touch

  • Sacroiliac nutation & counter-nutation, pelvis & anatomical perineum

  • Skeletal system & functional movement

  • Anatomy of the spine, symmetry & asymmetry

  • Cardiovascular, digestive, excretory, muscular, nervous & vestibular systems

  • Respiratory system: mechanics, breath–movement relationship

  • Somatic vs autonomic functions; thoracic, paradoxical & abdominal breathing.

Module 3: Hatha Yoga Practice

 

Detailed physical, psychological, and spiritual understanding of classical Hatha Yoga postures.

Asanas covered include:

Tadasana, Vrksasana, Utkatasana, Trikonasana (Utthita & Parivrtta), Parsvakonasana, Virabhadrasana I & II, Parsvottanasana, Chaturanga Dandasana, Dandasana, Vajrasana, Sukhasana, Padmasana, Siddhasana, Padangusthasana, Prasarita Padottanasana (I–IV), Adho Mukha Svanasana, Vashisthasana, Sarvangasana (I–III), Halasana, Supta Padangusthasana (A & B), Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, Chakrasana, Bakasana, Hanumanasana, Sirsasana, Paschimottanasana, Purvottanasana, Matsyasana, Marichyasana (I & III), Ustrasana, Shavasana.
